Howard Chase is Senior Director of Government Affairs for The Dow Chemical Company in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Turkey and India. He is responsible for managing Dow's major public policy and government relations issues in this region. These include chemicals regulation, plastics and the circular economy, trade and industrial policy, and political and geopolitical risk.
Howard is based in Horgen, Switzerland and is a member of the Dow Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (EMEAI) leadership team. Before joining Dow he was Director of European Government Affairs for BP plc based in Brussels and previously held senior government affairs posts for BP in Washington DC, Moscow, London and other locations worldwide.
Howard has an engineering degree from Cambridge University in the UK and management studies qualifications from the UK and from Harvard Business School.
Amongst various external and industry roles, Howard is Chairman of the Industry Advisory Panel of the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT) and Chairman of the European Risk Forum (ERF) and was previously a Sherpa to the European Commission High Level Group on Competitiveness, Energy and the Environment.
