ARC Fund is a premier Bulgarian NGO that has worked since many years in the field of Science, Technology and Innovation Policy. It is actively engaged in applied research and analyses, public policy support and advocacy, capacity building, training, and knowledge and innovation brokerage. Over the years, ARC Fund has successfully managed and partnered in more than 100 projects in the EU’s programmes (FP4, FP5, FP6, FP7).
In 2001, ARC Fund started building its institutional capacity in forward-looking studies, and since then the organisation has implemented several sectoral foresight studies and built up capacity in technology assessment and public engagement in research and innovation.
Within the RECIPES project, ARC Fund will be responsible for carrying out a case study on GMOs and for investigating discourses and applications on the precautionary principle in Bulgaria. It will also contribute to the discourse analysis and synthesis in WP1 “Taking stock of the precautionary principle since 2000”, the new tools development in WP3 “Development of new tools and approaches to the PP in a co-creation approach” and policy dialogues in WP4 “Policy Dialogue”.
